Hand-Spinning & Wool Craft

Celia, our hand-spinning has been doing this craft for over 30 years. This is real fleece to you process, using mainly the colours of natural world of sheep

Celia, starts with the fleece, straight of the sheep, procured from local farmers of rare breeds and turns it in 2-play yarn using a traditional spinning wheel. Once cleaned, and balled its ready to knit.

Celia makes:

• Full Mittens
• Fingerless gloves & Miser Mitts (1/2 fingers)
• Typing gloves (Based on a 1940s golf glove pattern, the palm is missing, so it doesnt catch on the keyboard)
• Hats: Ski, Beany & Berets
• Scarves

All sizes are available, including ones for new-born.

For wool that Celia deems is not of sufficient quality for spinning is used to make fleece rugs using a peg-loom

Celia also performs Alchemy with natural dyes to produce contrast to the natural colours

Wood Crafting

Alan. is our wood crafter specialsing in wood turning on a lathe but can do other forms of wood craft as well.

He uses local wood from the Forest of Dean area, sourced mainly by himself with his trusty chain saw around his home or from a local tree surgeon he knows. Alan, does the seasoning in a natural way, leaving it the dry naturally.

Purchasing of items

We dont offer an online shop, due to the unique nature of the goods for sale, each one is hand-crafted and unique.

We exhibit at local crafting events, where we like to engage with customers. At these events we have a reader to accept card payments as well as cash, of course.

We do offer a postal delivery option, normally using royal mail. Pricing is done by wieght:

• Up to 2 kg: £4.50
• 2 kg - 5 kg: £9.00
• Over 5kg: Ask about price
